CHP: 11 and 12 Reflection

In these chapters I liked the idea that culture is a huge part of a child/students life. Not only does it show students different views, but also it teaches them lessons in life i.e. racism, prejudice etc... As teachers we have to understand those cultutres and take action when differnt cultures come into our calssrooms. So not to push anyones beliefs to the side but influence the whole class to take part in some way so no one is left alone. I like the fact that we need to encourage our students to ask questions and bring up topics that will motivate themt o think outside the box. And when they do we need to be appreciative, and not to be criticizing towards thier ideas. as teachers we need to be ready for those students that do not understand or cannot connect concepts. We have to make sure that our students are learning the material and not just memorizing to complete the assignment. When providing games or other material other than a textbook, we need to make sure every character or implication is seen in a positive light so not to create sterotypes. we need to be rolmodels for our students. The way we present ourself can have a huge outcome on how the students will react and how they will conduct themselves later in life. To allow our students to have the best education we can give them, as teachers we need to learn and refresh on not only technology , but it is a huge factor. Since technology is a huge partof our lives and shows no signs of holding back. We need to be able to provide the skills we have to our students.
